Literature Text

Would you do an experiment with me?
Place yourself in this scenario-
Here you are, 18 years of age.
Everybody else is turning the page,
Halfway through, while you're staring at the cover.
You've got suicidal depression, psychopathic tendencies-
Of course, none of this was ever diagnosed or seen;
You've got a paranoia disorder that stops you.
You've been given all the tools to succeed, y'know.
But you failed at every shot-
The world was outside and bright and beautiful,
you spent it trapped in a box.
Every opportunity that was given to you, you failed.
The world is moving along without you.
And like a pane of glass, yes, you can see through,
But the pain of life leaves you feeling see-through.
And so here's truth.
Your friends - if you can call them that,
Have jobs, college, university-
Of course people have it worse than me,
That's what makes it hurt more.
That even though people can climb mountains,
you can't climb out of bed in the morning.
So, here you sit,
Writing this,
Hoping for someone to save you.
Inspired somewhat by Suli Breaks, hence more of an effort put forward into rhyming. This is how I feel - take it or leave it.

Sometimes you are in that situation NOT of your own making but of someone else's. But you fight like hell to stay sane and claw your way out of that box. Not easy but it can be done. Don't lose yourself, fight for your survival. You have written this very well. Hang on to you it gets better with time!
